This is a very accomplished and wistful sonnet, strong and uncompromising, sad and ebbing in memory–very well done in all of the simple rhymes, to suggest the simplicity of a time before adult grief and grim reality. Fine writing, as always here.

I agree with Audrey in that there is some sadness. I can’t really describe what it is, but your poem does a great job at it…hehe. I love how the movie in our heads mutes out the sweat, grease, and a hard plastic booth as time fades the harsh reality.

done more than hold my hand. Not even tried…that def puts a heavy and dark spin on this…ugh…and nice way to bring us back to reality with your close…grease, sweat and hard plastic booth….that puts it into perspective…
